‘L’ Mix

For Those Prone to Laminitis
  • Low starch, low calorie, high fibre
  • No added sugar, molasses or cereal grains
  • Contains a unique pre and probiotic blend

‘L’ Mix may be fed to horses and ponies at rest or in light work. The inclusion of fibre in the form of alfalfa and chaff ensures increased chewing time, which is beneficial for horses or ponies on a restricted diet and can help to maintain a healthy digestive system. Quality vegetable proteins and unsaturated oils help provide essential nutrients whilst yeast provides a rich natural source of vitamins and minerals. A unique blend of premium grade herbs, specifically for hoof health, work in synergy with other ingredients.

Feeding Instructions

Instructions for use:
Dampen well before feeding. Introduce a new feed gradually over 7 to 10 days building up to the amounts needed to maintain condition and energy levels (0.5 – 5.25kg depending on size, type, workload and condition). Allen & Page cannot be held responsible for any problem encountered if the feed is not prepared in accordance with our recommendations. This feed should be fed with forage and fresh water. Do not feed to sheep.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: To get the best results from ‘L’ Mix, please make sure that you do not feed any other products that contain barley, molasses or any other ingredients which are high in starch and sugar.

Please note the current ‘L’ Mix sacks instruct to ‘soak the feed for 5-10 minutes’. As a chaff based feed, be assured that this feed can be either dampened well or soaked as preferred by the feeder.

Even though this feed does not need to be soaked, we always recommend, as good feeding practice, that it should be dampened well before feeding. This not only adds interest and mimics the horse’s natural diet but research suggests that by dampening feed can help to reduce the risk of both choke or colic.
