Dairy Goat Mix
|
A mix of cereals and pulses optimised for the high yielding dairy goat. Should be introduced about two weeks before kidding, startig with just a few handfuls, and gradually building up to around 0.5kg a day by the time the kids are born. After the birth of kids, the feed should slowly be increased to around 2kg a day. A milking goat producing about 4.5 litres of milk a day will need about 2kg of feed per day. Depending on the individual goat, you may need to increaser the amount further if she is producing more milk, by about 1kg for every extra gallon of milk, although the goat may not want to eat this much.
